Matthew Waterhouse (1964)
In his own words:
I left WHS in 1964, going to King Edwards. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham while undertaking a thin sandwich course with Rolls-Royce Ltd initially in Derby then Crewe and the Motor Car Division.
I spent more than 30 years with RR/Rolls-Royce Motor Cars at Crewe. I left in 2001 and freelanced in automotive engineering around the world. I retired from paid employment in 2016 after working for a contract automotive engineering company in Coventry. For a lot of my career I was involved in “specials” or very limited production runs.
I now volunteer with the IMechE interviewing applicants and reviewing the results of other interviews. I also “play” with old/classic cars in various forms and own one myself.
