U10 Football v Blue Coat

A Team

The first match of the term was football against Blue Coat School and, thanks to an unbelable hat-trick by Oliver W, West House won the match 3-1. West House were 1-0 down but scored through Oliver to make it 1-1 at half time with a shot from near the halfway line. Aadam A assisted Oliver once through a quality pass. Rishi was really good in goal and Martinez-style made a fantastic, diving save to stop Blue Coat scoring again. WHAT A SAVE! I think Player of the Match was Oliver W because he had a beautiful thunderous strike and scored a hat-trick. Ahead of the next game, West House could improve on their communication between players on the pitch.

B Team

The serious game was 4-4! The goalscorers were firstly Ameer N with a thunderous strike and the goalkeeper pushed it to the top right bins! The second goal was from Luke K who went on to score a hat-trick in the match. It was an end to end match with Blue Coat scoring some great goals including slotting the ball into the top bins from a penalty kick. With the score 4-3 to Blue Coat, West House needed to find another goal to draw level and Luke stepped up with a fine finish to draw the match 4-4! I personally think Zak S was the Player of the Match because he always made a through ball to the wings to create many chances! Before our next game, I think that the attackers need to track back to help the defenders. Also our communication could be better because when players were free we did not pass to them and we ran into the opposition players.

U9 Rugby v Hallfield

A Team

The conditions were horrible for our first contact rugby match – murky, rainy, muddy and damp, but that did not stop us. The team played extremely well getting a 13-3 win. Our team had Alfie, Ben, Xavier, Yaqub, Arian, David, Rui, Willian, Shawaiz and Albert. We put in some excellent tackles and scored lots of tries. Hallfield played well, but not good enough where the West House grit, determination and skill shone throughout. The Player of the Match has to go to Alfie for his exceptional footwork and power, and when getting injured being tough and not giving up. Very good performance and coaching from Mr Lyttle Jnr. WELL DONE WEST HOUSE UNDER 9s A TEAM!

U11 Rugby v Hallfield

A Team

On Wednesday the 28th of January, the West House U11 rugby team played Hallfield School. We started off very strong with scoring five tries in the first half. Hallfield scored one in the first half, and after some great running ,tackling and rucking the final score was a massive 10-1 to West House. The try scorers included Tamu, Uche, Ben, Leo and Saran but overall it was a fantastic team performance. Player of the Match was Uche for his hard hitting tackles. He was a tackling machine! We are looking forward to future games and are spurred on after a great win!

U10 Football v RGS

A Team

It was a very close game in which West House hit the woodwork at least five times and didn’t take our chances. In the first half, we pressured RGS when they were on the ball but they responded really well in the last 10 minutes. Oliver, from outside the box, struck the ball which hit the goalkeeper’s gloves, onto the crossbar and Musa left foot guided the ball into the back of the net. Player of the Match was Rishi because of his crucial saves and keeping a clean sheet. Post match, Aadam commented, “We scored a greta goal. Musa showed lots of skill as well as Oliver.” Taking our chances in front of goal and communication between the whole team are two things we definitely need to work on, but overall the team played really well to get a 1-0 victory!

B Team

The B Team played very well with Harvun, Ibraheem (2) and Joe (2) on the scoresheet as West House beat RGS 5-1. At times, there was great, one touch football just like the Premier League including fantastic passing movements and one-twos to create lots of chances for the team. The Player of the Match was Ameer who played great balls to create more chances and was unselfish with the ball at his feet. Post match, Ameer commented, “The team played really well and the great passing allowed us to score more goals.” West House were lucky in defence sometimes so we need to work on our positional play, particularly when we are in our own half.
