Ellesmere Football Tournament

The Under 11 football team returned from the prestigious Ellesmere tournament with good news. We qualified from our group with 4 wins, a draw and a loss. In the semi-final, the West House team beat Birchfield 2-0 and, in a thrilling final against the hosts, the teams were locked at 1-1 after full time, extra time and five minutes allotted in the hope of a golden goal! A tense penalty shootout followed which we won to secure the trophy. Appropriate acknowledgments will be forthcoming in assembly on Monday.

These triumphs are testament to the hard work and dedication of the boys involved, as well as the unwavering support from our envied team of PE teachers and, of course, those parents who turn out to cheer the school on! Our football and cricket teams, in particular, are then envy of many around.
