U10 West House v Hallfield
In the first of a double header for the U10s this week, West House faced Hallfield in four matches on a cold June afternoon away from home and were victorious in three out of the four fixtures! For the A team, Thomas W hit a fantastic 50, his maiden half-century for West House School, which was imperative in setting the opposition a sizeable chase. A compact bowling performance from all the players and some brilliant ground fielding, including a direct run-out from Yuvraaj, meant the game would have to be decided by a final over showdown! In a thrilling climax to the game, Cayleb bowled a tight final over but Hallfield scrambled over the line to win by a mere 2 runs.
The B team were convincing winners as they battled hard to secure another victory by 63 runs. West House scored 324 runs after their 16 overs with Hallfield replying with only 261. Mr Denham was in high praise for the spirt that West House conducted themselves with throughout the match. In the C team, a steady knock from Samuel K saw West House finish their innings on 260 and a great all round bowling performance restricted Hallfield to 242 resulting in a 18 run victory! A big mention must go to Samuel W who stepped in at the very last minute to help the D team power through to yet another victory for West House and securing three wins out of four against a valiant opposition. Well done the U10s!
