U9 Rugby v Hallfield

Tuesday 20th February 2024
A Team
West House 15 – 3 Hallfield
B Team
West House 7 – 9 Hallfield
C Team
West House 8 – 8 Hallfield
D Team
West House 6 – 6 Hallfield

An A* performance saw a cosy victory at Richmond Hill Road making it two
from two against Hallfield School for the U9 A team this term. After a high
scoring first five minutes for both sides, West House stepped up their tackling
skills and started to take full control of the game. Positive running from Tamu
and Uche combined with some neat footwork from Leo saw West House score a
total of 15 tries – the joint most by any West House team in a fixture this term so
well done to all the members of the A Team!

The B Team match proved to be a rollercoaster of a fixture. Rizwaan kept the try
tally ticking over and Yifan was brilliant in his support play and commitment to
the contact part of the game. The team showed huge determination and
perseverance in a well-fought fixture so credit to all the boys who took part!

The tries were shared amongst the C and D team players as incredibly we didn’t
manage to get one tie… but we got two tied matches – how about that!! The boys
used their experience from the previous fixture against Hallfield and showcased
excellent handling skills, brave tagging and improved knowledge of the game.

I’m sure we will all be practising our side stepping skills and, particularly when
we are approaching the touchline, to ensure we run into the attacking space
and not out of the pitch! Well done to Aidan who was a huge threat when
attacking and defending throughout the game.
