Shrewsbury Under 11s

It was an early start for the boys, who left school at 7:30 am to avoid any traffic problems. This proved a useful tactic as we were the first team to arrive, which gave us plenty of time to warm-up properly.

The first match was against Yarlet School. WHS started really well and created many chances but did not convert at first. In the second half we applied more pressure and scored, firstly Tadi then Essa and won 2-0. Our second match against Repton was a very tight affair with both teams playing well. WHS caught the opposition out with a fast break, Tadi beat the goalkeeper but unfortunately hit the post and the match ended in a 0-0.

Our third match was against Birchfield who had played two and won two!

WHS started well, with quick passing and movement and Tadi scored..The team kept the pressure on Birchfield and scored again through Essa . Second half, the team pressed the opposition and scored again through Ali-Aoun. The final score was a win 3-0 .This meant WHS were top of the group !

In the quarter final we played Prestfelde B team.

WHS started really well again and scored through Ali-Aoun. There was great passing and running off the ball . WHS scored again (Tadi). West House were too strong for the opposition and went onto win 6-0.

Semi Final v Prestfelde A team

The opposition started really well and scored a goal early on then quickly scored again to make it 2-0 at half time. Second half WHS created chances but did not finish. Prestfelde scored again and were the better team on the day.

Lost 3-0. A fair match with lessons to be learnt for the future.
