West House v Solihull U9s - Kyan M
The B Team match against Solihull was amazing!
The game started with three outstanding catches by Syed H. Next Feroz K came out to bowl. The ball flew out of his hands like a rocket; the Solihull batter had no chance. After a few more balls, Feroz K produced the same type of magic – two more times.
Then after a few weak shots from Solihull, Syed H managed two more wickets.
Now it was us to bat. Kyan M managed to get ten runs. Then the fantastic Feroz provided us with another thirteen runs. Now, it was Eisa I’s turn. He did extremely well, walking back to us with a handful of runs (actually 11 to be precise).
That was the end of it. We had got the better of Solihull. The final scores were Solihull 248 – West House 281.
Kyan M was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his solid all round performance.
Under 10 A Team V Blue Coat
It was as sunny day at Blue Coat School. The under 10s wanted revenge because of what happened last year when Blue Coat won by 12 runs but today was the day when West House would win.
We started off on a high when we won the toss and bowled first. Hugh O-R and Abdullah A (both County) started off the bowling and Abdullah in particular bowled very very well and got 2 wickets. Max L and Tadi M were up next to bowl. Tadi got a double wicket maiden in one of his overs and in the next he got 1 wicket!
Next it was the mighty Mahan C. bowling with Jovan M. Mahan was so unlucky to not get any wickets because they were all bouncing over the wickets. Jovan on the other hand did get some wickets with some comedy fielding from Ari M when he threw the cricket ball at someone’s back when going for a run-out!
The ‘dangerous D’s’ were next to bowl – Roman D and Freddie D. Freddie picked up 2 wickets and the county bowlers, Ari M and Akbar A bowled very well. They didn’t bowl anyone out there but there were plenty of run-outs.
Unfortunately there was no tea!
When it came to the batting there was nothing much to say other than it was all incredible. In particular Ari M and Akbar A played some superb shots and as a team we outbatted Blue Coat and got a comfortable victory .
