West House Commonwealth Games Writing Competition
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games begins on the 28th July. This event is a showcase for all the wonderful athletes of the Commonwealth. To build excitement for the Games, we are running a writing competition!
Rules
Your story must, in some way, involve the Games. For example, you could detail an athlete competing for a gold medal or a passionate supporter losing their ticket for the closing event, or even tell the tale of two fierce rivals meeting in the grand finale of their sport. You could write a story about Perry – the Brummie bull – who is mascot of the Games.
Your story should be 500 words in length.
If you are a prep student, you must submit your story via Google classroom. If you are a child in pre-prep, you must hand in a paper copy to your class teacher.
The deadline is Friday 10th June!
Four great sports-themed prizes will be awarded across all age groups.
West House is looking forward to Birmingham’s Commonwealth Games and have a number of games related activities planned for the rest of the term. First off the starting block is the launch of the West House Writing Competition on the 23rd May. Boys have been busy designing posters to promote this competition as we want as many pupils entering it as possible.
