Welly Walk

This week Reception boys eagerly embraced the season of winter, exploring the fascinating changes that happen to our environment during this time of year.

To bring their learning to life, the class set off on a ‘welly walk’ around the school grounds, on the lookout for signs of winter. With hats and scarves on, the boys excitedly explored the natural world, observing frost-covered leaves, bare branches, and crisp winter air.

The highlight of the walk was discovering ice in the school pond! The boys were thrilled to see first hand how water transforms in colder weather, sparking conversations about freezing temperatures and ice formation.

These outdoor adventures not only deepen the boys’ understanding of the season but also encourage them to connect with nature, fostering curiosity and a love for the environment.
