Creativity Abounds!
A broad and balanced curriculum is an essential ingredient of the West House experience. The Festival of Arts provides a fantastic opportunity for our senior boys to host their parents and showcase their skills and talents in those important areas beyond academics.
Mr Lyttle
A highlight of Year 6 is the Creative Arts Evening where the year 6 boys get to showcase their musical, dramatic and artistic skills. It’s a lovely event and this year’s cohort demonstrated that their creative skills are at least equal to, if not superior to, their impressive academic results!
The evening started with the opportunity for parents to have a good look at the art work produced by the boys. They were then treated to a musical extravaganza. Performances included Baajveer on the oboe playing’ Bare Necessities’ and Ettan and Sanjithan on their electric guitars. Arunveer gave a spirited rendition of ‘When The Saints’ and a special mention to Joshua who wowed audiences with an outstanding performance on the flute and then a rousing performance of ‘Appalachian Boogie’ on the piano, which ended the concert.
After a short break the boys then took to the boards to share their work on Shakespearean insults. Having been taught by Ms Greene throughout their time at West House, the boys are all extremely confident performers and look very much at home on stage.
They exchanged insults with much gusto.
We hope you all enjoyed the evening, you bunch of art grizzled, shag-eared pantaloons.
