Mr Lyttle Snr. Retires

Since 2012 Mr Lyttle (Snr.) has been looking after the gardens here at West House. His speciality are the beautiful roses that grow around the war memorial and the flower banks that face directly on to the Headmaster’s lawn.

In addition he has run the West House gardening club where generations of boys have been able to get hands on gardening experience and much to their delight, get covered in mud in the process.

Sadly, the time has come for him to hang up his pruning shears and enjoy retirement.

Mr Lyttle was invited along to this week’s Thursday assembly where he was delighted to receive a West House Way certificate and a rather fitting rose bush.  Addressing the boys, he spoke movingly about how much he has enjoyed getting to know many pupils over the years and he urged the boys to keep working hard and having fun.

We wish him and Mrs Lyttle the very happiest of retirements.
