The Lion, the Witch, the Wardrobe and West House

Years 4 have enjoyed a visit to the Birmingham Rep to see a fabulous musical adaptation of C.S.Lewis’s fantasy classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a text they have studied at school.

The well-loved tale was brought vividly to life with many clever effects, music, dance and some amazing puppetry. Highlights included the journey through the wardrobe from the ‘real’ world to the mysterious land of Narnia and the dramatic appearance of Aslan, the huge, noble lion at the centre of the story, which drew many gasps of amazement from an awe-struck audience.

With Drama now such a significant and much appreciated part of West House life, theatre visits offer insight and inspiration which the boys can draw upon as they undertake performances in school.  The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe certainly provided both, as well as enormous pleasure and entertainment.

The boys were then tasked with writing their own reviews of the play.
