Musical Wednesday

Another feast of music spanned the morning and afternoon at West House with the second music assembly and the term’s teatime concert.  The morning event gives solo players a chance to play to their schoolmates, and we enjoyed performances from Years 2 to 6.

After school, we were joined by an enthusiastic audience of parents and others to listen to no fewer than 26 boys, the youngest in Year 1, demonstrating that it is good to hear solos from boys at all stages of their musical journey, from recent beginner to an experienced ‘old hand’.  Fifty minutes packed with a variety of music and twelve different types of instrument were rounded off by hearty applause.  And well deserved, too.

Now we turn from solo performances to the Christmas concerts and the Carol service, in which everyone takes part.
