Captain, My Captain
It is always an exciting morning when the Year 6 boys present their speeches to their fellow house mates in order to convince the crowd that they are the worthy of leading their house.
Public speaking is not an easy thing to do and all our boys overcame their nerves and reservations to deliver some really great speeches. They should all be proud and in this respect they are all winners.
That said, winners needed to be picked. Congratulations to all our Captains and Vice Captains for 2023.
Trojans
These three all made passionate and convincing bids to win over the voters. In the end, it was Jeevan’s confident assertion that the Trojans were going to win the house cup and “when we do that we are gonna do what Ronaldo does, we are all going to scream 500!” that secured his place as House Captain.
Jaidev asserted that he “wanted to foster an environment where you all feel valued, supported and motivated to excel” and Fausto’s general charm and obvious commitment to the Trojans meant that these two were appointed Vice Captains.
Spartans
Jacob was the clear winner for the position of House Captain. He claimed that the Spartans were in his blood.
“I am a Spartan in my blood. My dad was a Spartan here. My brother is a Spartan and I have the same Spartan fighting spirit!”
This was enough to convince the crowd.
Omar who claims the title of Vice Captain adopted a lyrical approach and wowed the crowds with his poetry.

Persians
Theo, voted House Captain, kept it simple and it was a technique that worked. He promised that as Persian Captain he would help take back their place as number one house.
Feroz made no secret of his political ambitions stating that, ” I want to become House Captain because my goal for when I leave this school is to be a well-known student and becoming captain or vice captain will take me one step closer to reaching this achievement”.
The voters were happy to oblige and Feroz was made Vice Captain.
