Summer Concerts 2023

The annual summer concerts took place this week and what a treat they were. As usual Mr Lawrence and Mrs Butler had curated a varied and entertaining programme for us all to enjoy.

Highlights from the Year 3 and 4 concert included an energetic dance routine to “You Can’t Stop the Beat” and a truly impressive rendition of Palladio by the Strings Band.

The audience could be heard whistling along to the Dad’s Army theme tune as played by the Brass Band and their was much laughter when Year 4 presented their comedic poems.

Years 5 and 6 choir kicked off proceedings with a hearty medley from Mary Poppins. The range of instruments that boys performed on was extremely impressive and this was most evident in the orchestra’s performing of The Magnificent Seven and Jurassic Park theme tunes.

A heartfelt final song about the future called Where Do We Go From Here, ended another superb West House musical extravaganza.

Congratulations to all the boys for their performances. Thanks and farewell to our Year 6 leavers – keep playing music!

Thank you, parents and families, for supporting the fabulous music-making, art, drama and dance work by your sons this year.

Thank you to all the staff who have contributed to the success of this concert with their work throughout the term and this evening.

Thanks to our wonderful instrumental teachers, without whose hard work, this concert could not have happened.

This summer, we bid farewell to our wonderful piano teacher Caroline McWalter, retiring after teaching at West House for 30 years. We will miss you!
