Dracula 2023

I am so very proud of the success of the recent Year 6 production of Dracula. This year’s show in particular was outstanding largely due to the standard of performance by the boys. Soloists and ensemble players excelled themselves. To create the gothic mood of the play was no mean feat. It required the discipline of a professional acting troupe and the boys stepped up to the challenge admirably.

A rollercoaster of creative learning enabled the boys to demonstrate, ‘The West House Way’ at all times, particularly the ethos of ‘work hard but don’t forget to have fun!’

Many of the pupils also enjoyed contributing to the technical aspects of the show, carrying out the lighting, sound and back-stage duties, this all enhanced the wondrous gothic set design created by Ms Patricia Moore.

It was so rewarding to see so many boys showing potential that they did not realise they had. Even the most shy and reluctant individuals gained immeasurable confidence and were given the opportunity to shine! From all of the positive feedback received from parents and all – it is evident to see that the value of providing such experiences at West House is greatly appreciated indeed.

You have taken each and every boy to whole new levels of confidence and it was a joy to see! This is exactly what any parent wishes for their child, that they are in an environment which step changes their capabilities and with teachers who can see and then unlock their potential whether it be a maths test, cricket match or school play!

Year 6 Parent

Thank you for giving the boys an unforgettable memory to keep life-long!
