The West House Way Assembly

In assembly today, Mr Lyttle was proud to hand out the first certificates of the year for boys who are following the West House Way.

Many of you will know that we have been reviewing what makes our school unique. In the process, the old code of conduct has been replaced with the new West House Way.

Now we have started our first full Academic Year with the West House Way encapsulated, shared and literally written on the walls. Each week we will be celebrated boys and staff who epitomise our values.

In the Prep Department, boys get to vote for each other, they get to vote for their teachers, and teachers get to vote for boys – all focusing on one of the 7 values in the West House Way.

In the Pre-Prep Department the boys are taught a specific value each week and discuss examples of how they have seen that value in action. The teachers then choose a boy who has demonstrated that value. Each value is also associated with a character – for example today’s ‘Work hard but don’t forget to have fun’ certificates were handed out alongside the sticker with the Work Hard Have Fun Flamingo!

In today’s assembly, seven certificates were given out to boys and one to a a very delighted Miss Heffernan who had been nominated by the boys earlier in the week.
