House Captains 2022
The annual House hustings were held yesterday morning. Year 6 boys, who put themselves forward, were required to stand in front of their fellow house members and argue why they would make the best House Captain. A public vote was then held with the winner and runner up announced immediately, the runner up automatically becomes Vice Captain. This is an exciting morning at West House and staff are always impressed with the preparation and impassioned delivery of the speeches. We know the Trojans, Persians and Spartans are in safe hands this year.
Trojans
Congratulations to Captain Abdullah and Vice Captain Max. Abdullah won over his fellow students with his impressive list of West House activities and his extra -curricular cricket playing for Warwickshire County. He said “that if you vote for me then the Trojans will be victorious this year.” A confident start, Abdullah.
Max, impressed the voters with his rap that began “I’ll be the best, when put to the test”. These words proved prophetic and we are sure Max will make an excellent Vice Captain.
Spartans
The Spartans meanwhile were voting in Ari as Captain and Ibraheem as Vice. Ari promised to be fair and to lead his house to victory but what impressed the boys most was his motivational quote from The Rock, ” I will be working even when no one is watching”. Knowing Ari, we know this to be true.
Ibraheem spoke movingly about how Spartans blood runs in his family and he claimed that if you don’t know that Spartans are the best then you must be “delusional”. Indeed.
Well done boys.
Persians
The Persians kept it simple. Candidates demonstrated a matter-of-fact confidence in their abilities. Roman who was appointed House Captain simply stated that he was “amazing” and deserved to be Captain. Who can argue with that?
Shay who is well known for his literary talents won over the crowd with a rap and takes up the post of Vice Captain, with immediate effect.
