West House versus The World’s Strongest Men
When we got the call asking if the organisers of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games could visit West House for a couple of days and use our grounds for filming we couldn’t refuse.
And what a couple of days it turned out to be.
The World's Strongest Men Attend Morning Assembly
The first surprise of the day was when the official World’s Strongest Men (Tom and Luke Stoltman) were special guests in our morning assembly. They helped Mr Boulton and Mr Lyttle hand out certificates for the worthy winners in the recent Commonwealth Games writing competition.
Our next visitor was GB basketball player, Kofi Stevens who was more than happy to put the boys through their paces on our new basketball courts.
Next it was the boys turn in front of the camera. They were amazingly well behaved and waited patiently for the director to call out “action”. Their cheering and hi-fiving was magnificent.
Then Perry took over the teaching in Yr 3.
Just before lunch, Sky News popped by to film the ladies cricket team.
Finally, the team GB judo team took over Duce Hall and challenged the strong men to a competition.
