Kings of Kingswood
Year 6 Residential - Ibrahim A
Y6 Residential – Ibrahim A
It was a wet Sunday morning on the 5th of June when I embarked on my first residential at Kingswood, Colomendy I was a little apprehensive to begin with however as soon as our journey began the nerves changed to excitement.
The four days spent there were filled with back-to-back activities which included, caving, raft building, rock climbing and night line, we were kept so busy I hardly had time to think of home because of all the fun I was having.
My favourite activity was caving. I found it to be challenging because I had to crawl, walk and climb in the dark and it was a bit out of my comfort zone.
Raft building was really fun. We had to show a lot of teamwork during this activity because we had to make the raft together. When we put our raft in the water to test it out it was all right at first but then I fell into the water! It was really cold but soon I warmed up afterwards. Overall, I think that raft building was a great activity.
On the final night of our trip, we ate marshmallows around the campfire and reflected about our time away. We sang songs around the campfire and had a really good time to mark the end of our stay. The trip was a wonderful experience with the wilderness and with nature. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there because I think they would have an amazing time there too.
