First Aid Policy

The First Aid Policy at West House School ensures adequate first aid provision across all departments, including Early Years, with trained staff, clear accident recording procedures, and adherence to DfE and HSE guidance. Responsibilities are shared between the Headmaster, Bursar, Matron, Nursery Manager and trained first aiders, with regular training in paediatric first aid, allergy management, and emergency response. The policy also sets out procedures for accident reporting, infection control, first aid box maintenance, managing pupils with medical conditions, and compliance with statutory reporting requirements to the HSE and OFSTED.
