Whilst the final extra-curricular club on a Friday finishes at 5:00pm, there are weekends when the school doesn’t quite finish there! With a more relaxed approach, you can leisurely wake up on a Saturday or Sunday morning but still have a hugely productive weekend full of excitement and stimulating activities both physically and mentally. Find out what some of our pupils got involved with in what was a rather busy, autumnal weekend here at West House School!

Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo

The weekend of action started on Friday evening as fifteen boys from Chorale performed ‘Captain Noah and his floating Zoo’ at St Faith and St Laurence Church in Harborne. A short trip from school saw a stelling performance from pupils from West House, St Peter’s CE Primary School and Norfolk House join together in front of a full congregation in an evening of joyful, mellifluous singing. It was a great start to the weekend!

U10 Football Festival at Repton

Saturday without sport is unheard of in many households and today, our 10 football team travelled to Repton School for what turned out to be a very successful afternoon.

P6 | W5 | D1 | L0

Zakaria S had a notable mention by Mr Williamson with Musa I and Oliver W finding the net on a regular basis across the festival. An undefeated afternoon for our U10 team so well done boys!

Y5 and Y6 Sunrise Sessions

Sunday morning started with the returning Y5 and Y6 Sunrise sessions, putting the boys through their academic paces and adding extra substance to the Sunday School fun! Mr Lyttle and Mrs White run the classes and we know it to be very popular amongst both pupils and parents.

Shrewsbury Cross Country Meeting

On Sunday afternoon, six boys travelled to Shrewsbury School for the annual U9 and U11 Cross-Country meeting. In the U9s, Alfie D and Ben both finished in the top 15 out of just short of 100 competitors. In the U11s, Oliver W finished a magnificent 4th place and Harry R in 11th with Ethan T and Saran S not too far behind. It was a brilliant effort from all of the boys involved in a highly competitive competition!

The journey back from Shrewsbury involved a new innovative raised by Saran S to introduce a new fitness club at West House with the catchy name of, ‘Turbo Tuesday’ – more information to come in the not too distant future!
