With fixtures up and running and training sessions in full flow, our U9 players were eagerly counting down the days until their first ever football tournament in their young sporting careers here at West House School. In an exciting round robin format, our boys experienced tournament style football for the first time at Prestfelde School where tensions were high and small margins could make all the difference.
Overall, we entered two teams, playing 8 matches and recording 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. An extra congratulations goes to our B Team who secured a 3rd place medal in the Prestfelde Shield Draw! Player of the Tournament for West House goes to Albert N who played with a vital role in midfield controlling the passages of play and captaining the B Team to an impressive 3rd Place finish, just missing out on the 2nd Place medal!
Sometimes, it’s not always about the big goals you score when you ripple the back of the net… you can achieve small goals in so many ways on the football pitch without hitting the net… and that’s why we are so proud of all our boys who travelled to Prestfelde School! Tournament football is firmly placed on results and to narrowly miss out on the games we lost are lessons we hope our boys will take on board as they continue to develop their ability as young footballers throughout their journey here at West House School!
