The House competition is a vital part of the everyday action here at West House School. Whether it be on the sporting field, playing a musical instrument or working hard during lessons to accumulate house points, every boy across the school plays an important part in representing their house with an overall winner announced each term.
However, each house needs two leaders to work alongside each other and guide their fellow house members through the term amassing as many house points as they can. After a fantastic display of public speaking (and in parts singing!) followed by a fun, fair and democratic vote, we can officially announce our House and Vice Captains for the Persians, Spartans and Trojans.
Persians
Well done to Saran who was elected as House Captain delivering an impressive speech inspiring his fellow housemates to vote for him and after an extremely close vote for Vice Captain, Mr Boulton had to call for a re-vote before Indy was officially announced as Vice-Captain for the Persians.
Will this be the year the Persians rally together to take control once again of the House Competition?
Spartans
Leo has followed in his brother’s footsteps and truly deserved his role as House Captain for the Spartans. His calm and collective speech sprinkled with positivity and optimism won over a majority in the Spartan house. Alongside Leo, Parin spoke with heart, determination and passion in front of his fellow peers so the question is, can Leo and Parin be the dream team to guide the Spartans to another successful House Competition?
Trojans
The Trojan house will be led by Yifan this year who spoke with character, fluency and honesty and we think he will do a fantastic job in stepping into the role! In support, his original rap-style speech earned Rizwaan the honour of being voted in as Vice-Captain. It takes great bravery when it comes to public speaking, and indeed rapping, so well done to both Yifan and Rizwaan. The Trojans always put up a good fight in the House Competition so can they do it again this year?
