Year 5 and 6 Summer Art Exhibition

Once again the Art Exhibition was a huge success with all of the boys enjoying the experience of showing off their work and talking about it. All of the hard work of the previous term paid off with parents praising the standard and artistic abilities on display.

The Year 6 exhibition was based around the subject of portraiture. During the year they have produced several drawings, photographs, miniatures, clay models and masks. They have also learnt about the importance of observation and proportion, as well as several techniques that can be used on future projects in their secondary schools.

The year 5 exhibition was based around the work of Clarice Cliff whomade the famous ‘Bizarre’ pottery in the 1930s. The boys made pots using recycled materials and put clay flowers in them, having created their designs on paper first.Anumber of parents have commented that the pots already occupy pride of place at home.
