School and Nursery Join Haiti Appeal

Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January, the school set itself the target of raising sufficient funds to provide the region with a Shelter Box to support the survivors in their return to normality. At a cost of £490 each, Shelter Boxes contain essentials such as tents, blankets, tools and multi-fuel stoves, along with items specifically for children.
Pupils from across the school and nursery raised £430, largely as a result of a non-uniform day, while Zack Bhalla (Year 5) embarked on his own fund raising ventures and donated a highly commendable £30 towards the cause.
The Shelter Box scheme is supported by The Rotary Club of Edgbaston and on Tuesday 9th March, President Eric Trowsdale visited West House to be presented with a cheque for the total raised. Pictured with Mr. Trowsdale are Samraaj Hullait and William Jebson (Year 6).
