Level 1:Will be able to look through a viewfinder and draw a picture. Take a digital picture. Work with others to create a storyboard. Level 2: As above and will be able to create a storyboard. See that a picture only shows part of a scene. Level 3As above and will be able to discuss what has been left out of the storyboard and state why certain detilas have been included and justify their choices. |
Week 1:Using a small viewfinder, children look around and frame certain ‘pictures’ in class. Draw them back and forth to see perspective. Draw what is in the viewfinder and take a digital picture to compare. Week 2: Discuss the drawings and photos and how they differ. Some things were left out of the drawings which the photo included. Make a jigsaw by cutting up a magazine picture and reassembling it on paper leaving small gaps between the pieces. Ch. Draw the gaps to join the picture up. Week 3: Ch. Are given a part of a picture and draw the rest of the picture. Write caption to describe. What was left out of the original picture? Week 4: Ch. Are given the middle part of a picture and draw what happened before and after on either side of the picture. Discuss timeline – storyboards. Week 5: Make a storyboard of an event working in a small group. 3 or 4 pictures – decide and plan work. Week 6: Complete storyboard work and evaluate – what did we want to show? Did we do it? What did we leave out and why? |
