Art and Design is taught in a modern and well equipped art studio within the school’s Centenary Building. In Pre-Prep pupils build on previous learning and work towards developing an understanding of form and colour.

 

From Year 3 pupils are taught by a specialist and explore the subject through a variety of media. Much of the work is project based and includes drawing, painting, designing and making models, as well as clay work, print making and collage. Senior boys study Art History, carrying out their own independent research, as well as visiting Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

 

By the end of Year 6, pupils are able to explore, process and communicate ideas. They are also encouraged to adapt and improve their work through their own critical analysis.
